Tempeh Asian Meatballs
Meatballs:
1 pound Tempeh
2 tbsp soy sauce
1 teaspoons sesame oil
1/2 cup Panko
1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
1 1/2 tsp egg replacer + 2 tbsp warm water (whip together until eggy)
1 1/2 teaspoons minced garlic
1/4 cup thinly sliced green onions
Sauce
Sauce:
1/3 cup hoisin sauce
1/8 cup rice vinegar
1 teaspoons minced garlic
1 tablespoons soy sauce
1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
1/2 teaspoon sesame oil
Instructions
Meatballs:
Simmer Tempeh in 2 tbsp soy sauce and enough water to cover for 10 min, remove from heat and allow to cool.
Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
Crumble Tempeh into a large bowl and combine with all other meatball ingredients. Shape into 1-inch balls. Place on baking sheet and bake for 15-20 minutes.
Sauce:
Stir together all sauce ingredients in a bowl. Pour over warm meatballs and gently stir until covered.
